We are back where we left off last week, which is going back into Dennis's life as he's trying to recover from finding out that he believes Jack Terrence is the ultimate suspect for the Zodiac killings. Of course, at this point in time, that's really all he has focused on. He has turned him into the FBI in two thousand and has worked with the FBI for about a year, including trying to get DNA done, which we know that was not completed, or at least not in the same aspect as twenty on twenty with Harry Phillips when he ran eight other people, including Arthur Lee Allen, successfully Excluding those eight individuals and most of them we know as fake suspects from the Tomvoy website or other sites that have proclaimed that these individuals were good possibilities for the suspect.

1:53 In two thousand and one, we see the anthrax mailings we just came out of that that were mailed, and Dennis supposes that this was likely something that Jack did in order to give the FBI some busy work because he has just been turned in too law enforcement as a viable suspect. Now in two thousand, as we moved through two thousand and one, Dennis is trying to make his life over again back in California, and we start to see another range of communications that come out which are to Tom Voight, and of course Tom Voyd denies that these communications are from the Zodiac Killer. We're going to be talking about those after we discuss some of the things that Tom Voy used to carry on his website with AOL. And I don't know that I don't think that it's a coincidence that Jack has turned into two thousand. We have anthrax mailings in two thousand and one that many of the public back then believed was from the Zodiac. I thought they were crazy, but here I am today to talk about it. And then in two thousand and two, Dennis is not getting the recognition that he thinks he should be getting people round filing his evidence. They're saying he's doesn't know what he's talking about, or that Jack is not actively being investigated because the hours were not put into him, that was put into another fake suspect, Debora Perez. So we see the Zodiac reach out to Tom Voight in two thousand and two wanting to give the real story, and in two thousand and three saying I sent you DNA and fingerprints. You know, I'm telling you the truth, to ultimately being shunned by

3:26 the Tom Voight community as well, leading to what I call is the two thousand and five finale letter. So we're going to move quickly through Dennis's book at this point, and I'm going to let you know what's going on in Dennis's life as he's traversing this particular investigation that he finds himself all alone in. So, oh, good morning, Welcome to the show. Noe Lenin Lindsey, WOA give morning, Lindsay, can you hear me? I can hear you? Okay? Good, good, okay. So we're just picking back up on Dennis's book where Dennis is at when he moves back to California and is trying to restart his life while navigating the Zodiac investigation against Jack Terrence. So his book says, Charles and I met with Tony and he agreed to open up a new Cellier's store and Charles would run it. I was looking forward to having my little brother close to me once again. Charles and his girlfriend Crystal was ready to go back to Texas and get their belongings and return to get their new store open. I asked Charles if he could leave his dad in Texas until they got their own place, because there wasn't enough room for all of us in our one bedroom apartment. Charles agreed.

4:46 So this is basically stating at this point that Jack is remaining in Texas while Charles is coming back to California. Charles and Crystal, and remember Crystal is the girlfriend that lives one zip code over from Tim Miller. And the two thousand and five finale letter that I say tries to wrap up and take credit for many of the crimes in the past sixty years. Charles and Crystal's left to get their things in Texas and would return in a couple weeks. Joy was concerned about Jack coming back around after all that has happened. I assured her that everything would be all right. Just a few days after Charles and Crystal left to go back and get their things from Texas, I get an unexpected visitor at my front door. It was Jack. I told him that he could not stay here. Jack said it would only be for one night and then and then he would stay at his brother Dawn's that lived only a few miles away.

5:38 So Dawn, his brother, is living in Rooseville at this time. I told Jack that he could only stay until tomorrow. He agreed. Things were about to take a turn for the worst. Is this was the beginning of the end. Throughout the night, Jack kept yelling and banging on the wall, acting like he was doing this in his sleep. I had to keep going down and telling him to be quiet, because then neighbors were banging on the wall yelling at us to be quiet. Jack would stop for a few minutes, and then he would start yelling and banging again. I was getting furious. I could see that Joy was getting to the point that she couldn't take anymore. I do not like getting the police involved in anything, but this is the only way to handle this situation, to prevent anyone from getting killed or going to jail. When the police arrived, I explained to them that I did not want this man in my house. When the police talked to Jack, in no time, he had them convinced that he was senile. I glanced over at Jack when the police officer walked away for a moment, and Jack looked at me and whispered, see how easy it is. The officer that walked over to me had told me that my stepfather has dementia and it is common among older folks, he said. The officer also told me that he couldn't make him leave my apartment. I was also informed that if I kick him out of my house, I could be charged with a felony for abandonment of an elderly person.

6:55 I could not believe how easy Jack had fooled the police. That's one of those scenarios you never I can't imagine somebody faking senility when the doctors today can't even actively diagnose it. Yeah, well, I remember you whenever you another time when you read this passage, and I just remember thinking even then, like wow, like what a good use of abuse of the medical like you know regime. Oh and and the police as well. I mean, I couldn't get the police to do anything about my dad who was being violent with dementia. I couldn't get him to report it. I couldn't get them to do anything.

7:42 That too. But there there was There was no fasilory, there was no fifty one fifty. And I'm until the doctors had come to the conclusion that he did, in fact suffer from dementia. But his fifteen minutes with Kaiser was never enough. Right, God could. They're not arrested him, they're not making him leave. Right. It's my mom's safety I'm concerned for at this point, because she's literally, you know, in the household, and he's being violent, he's doing things that Of course, when the doctors explained to me that, oh, this is just a side effect of the dementia, this anger and this violent activity and all of this stuff, I said, no, you guys don't know who he was. I grew up with him.

8:25 All you guys have done is now put that oppressor right back on me. As if it's my responsibility to deal with this abuse all over again. So I mean you until they diagnose him and until he has an all out like I mean, he was driving his vehicle when he was told not to. I took the battery cables off. He walked out and figured out that they were off, put him back on, drove again, got lost. I then took the took and put one of those bars in the steering wheel to lock it up because I couldn't take his keys. He was very, very particular about his keys always being on him. My dad always carried this hunk of keys on the side of his hips all of my life. I thought, that's going to throw your hips off either way. He I put the bar on. That man spent I don't know how many hours on one hundred and ten degree day out there with one of those little tiny triangle shaped files, and he literally saw it right through the steering wheel bar.

9:24 Yeah, oh my gosh, and. Drove and got lost again. And here I am. I'm I'm proclaiming to DMV. I'm proclaiming to his doctor. Then I removed the chip, thinking there's no way he'll know about this chip in his vehicle. That man was capable of getting somebody from O'Reilly's not only to come out figure out that that chip was missing, but replace it and drove again. I'm telling you what it is is like. A part of their brain, because we have several patients like this, a part of their brain functions like at one percent capacity, and so that part of his brain was working just fine. It was the other part that was like, you know, where he was getting lost?

10:06 Was like his sense of direction was where the dementia was. You know what I mean. I mean you could. Easily tell what it's usually what you know if they have venture on. You know what I mean, it's. Yes. It happened the same way with my grandmother. She she was like at her wits about everything else, but like when she would go to her she would go to her doctor's appointments when she was still driving herself, and she would literally get lost. She started to get lost every single time and didn't know where she was and had to call on her cell phone like, hey, I don't know where I'm at. I thought I was gonna Well, at least you got a phone call. Yeah. My dad would constantly mess my house after I had lived there for almost ten years and end up in Reno.

10:50 He wouldn't stop and ask for directions. He would he was too embarrassed. So where they fail, they fail also to make it up in logical sense, which is, let's talk talk to somebody and figure out what's going on. And it was completely lost. But I highly doubt that that's what's going on with Jack here, because Dennis just spent the night with him. Dennis would have known if he was suffering from dementia, because they begin to repeat themselves every you know, fifteen to twenty minutes, telling the same story. And that's why I say, Kaiser in their fifteen minutes sucks. Spend another fifteen with them and you'll get to hear the same stories you just heard in fifteen minutes all over again, as if it's brand new. Yep, he's it before. Lindsay probably doesn't know because she's not from California. But fifty one to fifty is the code section for like a mental health emergency. So a lot of times the cops will come. They won't take the person to jail, but they'll take them to the mental health facility for evaluation, and usually the remainder for seventy two hours. Sometimes they decide to keep them. Sometimes they release them.

11:49 They just came out, damn in a situation. I think he's causing a disturbance in the house and with the neighbors. Okay, but he had just come out of the hospital from an instant where he had to lose a toe because again he's not thinking logically and his diabetes. He got a blister, he let it go, It festered and the toe started to rot. He ends up in the hospital and he's there and once he's healed and the amputation is done, they declared they can't keep him anymore. They don't have a home for him to go to, but they can't keep him anymore because there's nothing more they can do for him. And he's basically just taking up a bed. So he just got put off back on me to figure out what to do with him.

12:29 So there was no fifty and him or getting put back in the hospital. He was just released and they already told me there was nothing they could do for us. And that's another symptom of dementia, is when they start having issues with their legs and their toes and they have and they're having to get well. Diabetes is considered the third, the third dementia third third type of dementia. So you are absolutely correct in that. So Jack, he obviously drove himself back to Tech to So, yeah, how did you drive from Texas to California? If you if you got dementia? Whatever, we know, we know it was a ployed. Dennis knows it was a ploy but the cops told him you can't kick him out. That's elder abuse. And your stepfather is suffering from dementia. So I wonder that.

13:21 I wonder if during this time that law that you did just mentioned. Oh yeah, oh yeah, fifty one to fifty has been around as long as I can remember. Yeah. So, to continue on with Dennis's story, he says, I've had enough of this. At this point, I was ready to resort to drastic measures. This man is not going to ruin my life any any more lives. The police left, and I walked back to the apartment. I went upstairs and told Joy what had happened. She started crying, and I couldn't take anymore. I refused to let this killer back into our lives. I reached up in my closet and took out my pistol. I was going to end this once and for all. I loaded my pistol and waited for Jack to come back. He returned about three minutes later.

14:05 Joy looked up at me well while she was crying, and asked me, why does it have to be this way? I wish I could answer that, I told her. As I proceeded downstairs, I looked at Jack and said, fuck you, you worthless piece of shit. Jack thought it was funny until I pulled out my pistol. His attitude changed very quickly. He started saying I don't want to die. I told him, neither do Mom or any of the others. You motherfucker. I asked Joy to come down here for a second, and I asked her if she would tell the police that I had to shoot Jack in self defense. Joy and I had been together for sixteen years, and she always liked Jack, and when she saw him pleading for his life, she ran out the front door in tears.

14:45 This is how our relationship of sixteen years would end. Just a few days ago, things were good. Now it has all changed. I don't know how I let this happen again. I looked around and noticed how well Joy decorated our apartment, and now she is gone, and I am stuck in my own house with the man that had murdered my mother. I realized that my younger brother had come to California for other reasons than to visit. I cannot describe the words how I felt at this point. Oh boy, so I'm taking it that he feels that Charles showed up to California not for a visit, but to drop Jack off on him. Wow, that's what that kind of sounds like right now. I felt like I members do that. Yeah, well, but this is his youngest son.

15:31 This is his youngest son, the one that didn't want to believe that Jack was the Zodiac. He was upset for quite some time that Dennis was calling him the Zodiac. So if you loved him so good and he was such a great dad, why would you come and drop him off on somebody you know he can't stand. I mean, it makes absolutely no sense. But whatever it says, I cannot describe. Yeah, I cannot describe with words how I felt at this point. I felt like I'd been drained completely of all my energy. I knew I had to go on somehow, no matter how dreamed I felt, I couldn't let this monster in I had to bring him to justice. If I gave up, Jack would continue his tally. After a few days, I got a phone call from Joy and she wanted to let me know she was all right. This was a big relief for me. Though I was missing her, at least she was safe somewhere.

16:18 The next few weeks was rough. I did not get much sleep. I had to put a string across my bedroom door that was tied to empty soda cans so I would hear if someone tried to come in my room while I was sleeping. After I closed my store, I would usually stay on the internet until after midnight, searching the web for anything relating to Zodiac. This went on day after day and week after week. I had no choice but to devote my time to this depressing Zodiac case. Right so, on May thirteenth, two thousand and two, Jack is being seen Sutter of Roseville Medical Center back in Sacramento. May through June of two thousand and two, we see billings for Jack's related medical condition and they are being mailed to this sixty six to oh one Sunrise Boulevard, Citrus Heights, nine to five six one zero.

17:05 This supports Jack's residence in Citrus Heights, California, which is a suburb of Sacramento, until at least June of two thousand and two. And Jack is receiving mail at Dennis's house, So basically he has now taken possession because Dennis cannot kick him out. Wow. Yeah, wouldn't that sucks somebody you absolutely despise, you think killed your mother being forced on you. I would give him three eight others to leave. They couldn't. He couldn't. Then what sue him? Take him to court and get him out? Yes? And what if there was legitimately some law on the books that state you can't kick out somebody? And Jack still continues to play the senile dementia state. But he's also a veteran, right, I mean, they could find him a home at the VA hospital out in Yonville, they could find him in Martinez. There pretty much made there.

18:03 Yeah no, sorry McClellan. There's a few different places at this point in time that actually have homes for veterans. But all right, so we say that he's there until June of two thousand and two. This is where it gets crazy. So Jack is now left and on July fifth of two thousand and two. One month later, we have Jose Thomas Espinoza on the eight hundred block of Russell Palmer Drive in Kingwood, Texas, approximately nine to fifteen pm. He received a phone call from a payphone and drove to a parking lot where he was shot multiple times by an unknown suspect. Witnesses observed a dark color four door Sedan on the parking lot next to a white van, and a passenger got out of the dark colored sedan.

18:47 Passengers shot at Jose and he turned to run but tripped. Suspect then punched Jose and began arguing with him. Suspect then shot him multiple times and rifled through his pockets and giving something to a passenger in the room seat of the SAVALLANH sedan. Both vehicles then pulled away, going north on Russell Palmer Drive. A composite drawing is available, though I don't have anything in regards to it, and I don't know that I necessarily see Jack at his age throwing down with a full on fist contact. But again, these are just here because we don't know where Jack is at this point, and he's kind of wandering all over between Texas Washington, Oregon and California, Jul Like I. Was gonna say, I think I remember that case being on America's most want it if I'm not mistaken, I just thought I mentioned.

One had one earpiece is dying while the other one is not. So one is in charging while the and I don't understand because they were all in and charging. I don't know, we know me and technological issues. So but yeah, so the whole double car thing with two people, one person gets out rifles through his pocket. So maybe this man had something that was important to this other person in this other vehicle.

Either way, that screams of involvement of more than one person as far as I'm concerned, and that is right conspiracy. So July second or July twelfth of twenty and two, twenty three year old Sarah Trusty last seen and i'lgo a near her church on her bicycle at eleven pm on July twelfth. Found in the foyer of the church the next day. There is always this funny placement of bikes from children that go missing. She was found dumped on July twenty eighth on a in a dike in Texas City.

22:12 On July seventeenth, twenty two, twenty nine year old Marcos Mina eleven thousand block of League Line Road in Conro, Texas. Gosh, you guys, Conro is so full of murders. I just I can't even understand what is going on in this area. It's like a mini New York. It sounds like with all these deaths that are happening. Beaten to death and found in a ditch. Left home at Whitroad, Houston, Texas on July fifteenth at approximately seven pm, en route to an ex girlfriend's house driving a light blue nineteen ninety six to four to f one fifty truck and was alone. July twenty third, two thousand and two, truck is found abandoned at the Hurricane Ballroom in the one hundred block of West Dinah Street in Houston. This brings me back to the LA killings. Every time there was somebody dead, our vehicle ended up miles away somewhere else, kidnapped in one place, killed in another, and dumped and then returned to original location with the victims vehicle. This is a huge red hearing for many crimes throughout this presentation. All right, look at this, you guys. I know that this might be a little hard for some people to see, but this is a picture of Dennis Kaufman and Tom Voight.

You know what, this is what's scary because at one point in time, and I'm pretty sure if it wasn't Tom Voy, it was one of his little trolls had put up a picture of somebody doing drugs with Dennis and then accused me of being that person in that picture. Number one, if I wow, you would not catch it on film the rail, I can promise you I am not. I just watched a docu series the other day and this gal almost married a murderer, and after she found out he was a murderer, she just, like peek, dived into drugs and drinking and all the stuff.

July two thousand and two, while I was searching in the Internet for any current news on the Zodiac case. I noticed someone by the name of Tom Voight was having a Zodiac gathering at Blue Rock Springs just outside Balo. This was where one of the Zodiac crimes had taken pl thirty three years earlier. According to Tom Voight, the organizer of this event, the purpose of this gathering was for people who was interested in the case could share theories and possibly shed some new light on the case. July fourth of two thousand and two, I attended this gathering and I realized most of these people, including Tom Voy, had no interest in bringing Zodiac to justice.

25:20 I later realized Tom Voy was just a wacko trying to become a hero by solving the Zodiac case, and I think just the opposite. I understand Dennis's you know, thoughts about Tom Voyd. I think he's there to disseminate and to detur, disseminate false information and detour the actual solving of this case. And most people that I've come into contact with that has spent any moments with him on his board will tell you the same thing. Yeah. July four, two thousand, okay, blah blah blah. I was I Yeah, okay, when mister Voight realized that the police were more interested in Jack than his suspect. He did everything in his power to discredit me. I had set up a web page and mister boy had saturated it with pornography over and over. He even went as far as sending me an email that he said he would rape my dead mother. I couldn't believe that somebody would stoop to such a level. It was hard to not let this idiot get to me. This guy is nothing but a nutcase and does anything in his power to keep Zodiac from being brought to justice because his whole career would come to an end. There's the key statement.

26:28 Yeah, I was just about to say that, Yeah. What's one hundred percent every person in media or news, any story, any book, any anything being done. They direct him directly to Tom Voyd. When I wanted to play just the clips of Dennis and I on Aphrodite Jones, I had to get permission from the production company, and the legal department sent me a list of all of the images and news videos anything to do with the Zodiac that I was not allowed to show on my show because guess what, all the rights and royalties were owned by Tom Voyd.

I told you his father was also an investigative journalist for the LA Times, right, really, yeah, yeah, Now we're starting to see some connections because we also have the Black Dolia case that has remained unsolved for whatever reason. It's very important to look. Because they just didn't want it.

I've learned, especially in the last recent years, especially because they show themselves way more out and it's easier to see them for what you know through their actions and everything. Is that actually lost my thought? Whip corrupt, cops corrupt? You know. So I was gonna say, it's very important to look into. These journals he can and even law enforcement. Look into their background, where they came from, their family, their their mother, their father.

The story and it really does tell the truth through their background. So if you do that with every single person that you beat information from, like as far as like on the news or like in law enforcement, like you know, bigger officials like that that are like constantly putting out media and constantly putting. Out stories, if you would. The back room it tells the whole entire truth and doesn't let the truth like you will see right here and who's true who's not. I understand that. And in this particular instance, we find that the Hurst Corporation owned both the La Times and the San Francisco newspapers. So to me, ultimately there's that mob syndicate connection. They control the police, they tell they they not only are told by, you know, these individuals what they can and cannot say as far as news stories are concerned. They're able to squash the news stories.

I don't I think it was the Examiner, And in La it might have been the Examiner or the Daily News, but I don't think it was the Times. The chandlers on the Times. Oh okay, well, either way, you have how many magnets that own major newspapers. They all circulate the same exact association and company. Yeah, Heirst have a lot of syndicated writers, for instance, Dorothy Kilgallon, and they ran in all papers, just about every big paper. So the Times would run Hearst syndicated columns and pieces.

So that's where my belief came from. So I'm glad that you clarified that. Yeah, there's a great book called it's called The Powers That Be by David Halberstamp. It talks about the history of various large media newspapers Washington Posts, LA Times, and so that's why I'm and I interviewed with LA Times back in the day when I was a journalist. And yeah, the Chandler family has owned him forever. Okay, Well, either way, they all are still interconnected as far as I'm concerned. I mean, Murder and Yeah and Hurst and all of these people.

Well, to me, each one of these crime sprees have brought millions of dollars to these to these news outlets at a time when money was not to be made. There was no war to report on. What were you going to sell in your newspaper other than mob hits and and serial killings. That's being a car yet. So on August nine, two thousand and two, I received a phone call. This is Dennis again, you guys. I received a phone call from a relative living in Michigan State that my biological father passed away from heart failure.

31:49 This was the last thing I needed to hear. I had dreams of getting to know my father after Jack was brought to justice. However, this would this could never happen now. I booked a flight to Detroit, Michigan, so I could attend his funeral. The funeral was very emotional. It was almost too much for me. Dad did not want people to wear suits at his funeral. He just wanted everyone to be the way they were when they came to visit him when he was alive. There were several of his favorite songs that were played at his funeral, songs that he had picked prior to his death. One song brought back a memory that was all but forgotten. It was when I was five years old. I remember him saying, by son, you probably won't ever see me again, as he got into his car and drove away. It would be thirty years until we meet again. This was such a bad day for me. I think I had chose not to remember it. When I returned back home, I refused to live with Jack anymore. I could not kick him out because it was a felony, so I decided to move into another apartment September two thousand and two.

I couldn't believe my eyes as I sat and watched the show. I had been waiting for over two years for this. I kept waiting for them to mention Jack, and nothing about Jack was said. They did eliminate three suspects who a DNA was compared to Zodiacs. I figured if Jack's DNA did not match, they couldn't announce it on national television before they arrested him. I think, oh, oh, they did eliminate three suspects. I don't think I read that correctly.

I got several phone calls from different law enforcement agencies who worked with me, as well as my lawyer in Washington. Everyone thought that Zodiac would finally be arrested. My brother Charles saw the show and asked me if they were going to be arresting his dad. I told him I wasn't sure what was going on. I stopped by my old apartment where Jack and Charles were still living. It had only been two days since the show aired. I could feel the tension from everyone, including Jack. So go ahead. With Jack. That's that's Nora Dennis's mom, Oh, okay, interesting.
